Congress is like a middle-school cafeteria for adults
There are few things in politics I despise more than these stupid showmanship votes to condemn something that every functioning brain already condemns. They are as empty as land acknowledgements. No, you idiots on the right, they didn’t abstain from the vote because they’re down with attacking medical facilities. They’re just not going to come to your lunchtable and give you a high-5 for your little show. I wouldn’t either. It’s like passing law in 2020 that “makes lynching illegal”. No it doesn’t, it was already illegal. All it does is stroke your ego and make your base even more crazy.
The era of being governed by petulant adult-children. I'm so tired of it. But it’s not actually them, it’s us. We reward this and we elect them. They are a reflection of us as a people.
