The Hatecraft will never stop
We need to elevate new voices and land some important topics
It was an interesting 12 hours or so from observor-land. Last night I saw a fascinating exchange around Daniel Friedman and John McDermott regarding there being no “prominent male-focused publications”. Dan correctly pointed out that it’s a matter of all male-centered media channels evaporating after the turn of 2000 and not that these outlets never existed. GQ, Esquire, Maxim, all wrote to men. Then we went through two decades of Smashing The Patriarchy where anything and everything normal-male was rendered hostile and cast away. Legitimately excommunicated. We still get batshit crazy articles and scholarly journals and studies trying to radicalize our populace around the notion that women are somehow inhibited in this world. WTF we are at such a perverse point of Equity capture that men are being openly discriminated against and treated like garbage within massive (and massively important) spheres and we just shrug like it’s become the new normal. Because it has.
Anyhow, the part of that which really grabbed me was when John said “[it’s] a shame, because it is . . . a fascinating moment for men and masculinity”. Is it ever! The problem (as we see across the western landscape) is that fringe slices of the population pie have been granted artificial passes to speak for ginormous demographics which vary widely within. The notion that the Highly Educated feminist (or the highly radicalized FrankenFemme) speaks for American women is asinine. I love women and know a ton of them. I can count on one hand how many Maddow-lens-wearing degree-deocrated conservative-disliking-by-doctrine ladies are within any spheres of my life. We typically don’t get along; oil and vinegar. And that kind of brings me to why I decided to write this…
Right below Dan’s post was one from Jonathan “L0m3z"” Keeperman where he also correctly noted that the point is only re straight men. Bingo! As long as a male is effeminate, then they are most welcome inside the Patriarchy Smashed-ropes. Of course; that makes perfect sense, right? In fact, across all things Progress you see non-traditional (non-masculine) males elevated like a MFer! The pattern is consistent. These men are the feminists’ toys. They’re also miserable men, for the most part, because they enshrine the very aspects that make them uncomfortable in their own skin. That these same self-decorated stripes of our society then turn around and weave endless propaganda about the lonely online male and how only Liberals hold the prescription to their happiness is so upside-down it’s sickening. Boy, I hadn’t seen anything yet.
As these thoughts are all swirling around with coffee pre-sunrise today, I was also thinking about that fucking moron “Chud The Builder” who I just learned about last night and who I learned this morning is facing attempted murder charges. Chatter about that was all over X! The way the banter was breaking out was all so predictable and painful. Our society is like a jar of ants that’s been shaken to hell. You can tell where things will fall down the fault lines before they ever get there. We need new leaders so badly across almost every aspect of our terrain. I’m of course seeing how this idiot (and his fanboys) are all now going to become the new stand-in “The Monster” mascot used to paint all political/ideological opposition as innately bad so that America will blindly vote back in the same insane Progress (D-Equity-I/decolonizing) agenda that brought us here and that we just repelled. And so when this floated by me on the X river with a 5:55am drop time, it landed like a ton of bricks. Holy shit, here was The Borg already pouncing on this land! And man, was it rich…
Masculinism! Now, I’m not going to drift off here, but understand that I have long-running beef with the do-no-wrong feminist troop around The Atlantic and Bulwark. And this includes male ones like Derek Thompson. I think they are terribly dirty dealers in the world of journalism. I’ve documented why extensively; even wrote about it again today. I also recognize that this narrow and siloed slice of society became almost unassaible in Liberal Land. As did specific and specifically credentialed women like Helen Lewis.
A primary reason this lunchtable does not like me (and have mostly all blocked me) is because I don’t grant this deference or high-podium respect onto really anyone in those ranks. There are some who have remained intellectually honest and do good work and I hold in high-regard. But they don’t write about masculinism and mysogynoir. That’s tabloid shit rendered into weighty academic material because of academic titles that most people I know IRL don’t care about. I used to think Thomas Chatterton-Williams had something unique and valuable to offer. Then I see him running childish Hatecraft to advance bare politics and perform online about being grateful to have two passports so he can flee the county if needed after Dobbs. WTAF flee to where, guy? France, which has more restrictive abortion law than Roe? Why would you need to leave NY when they actually expanded abortion access after its repeal? It makes no sense. It’s all so self-serving and dumb. The use of Hatecraft to drive agenda without having to defend it has made me lose respect for a lot of people.
The trick Helen plays in here (just like Sophie does, just like Caitlin does, just like Cathy does, etc etc) is to draw out the absolutely worst of the right and then characturize that as a The Monsters mascot to then cast everything conservative (any opposition) into. This tactic is so trite and transparent; it’s wild to me that it still has such traction. Look who they promote in that piece as being representative of regular men who don’t want a society crafted by and for feminists. I don’t care much about any of those dudes. Reminds me a lot of promoting Nick Fuentes and then using mainstream outlets to paint all conservatives as Nazis. Lightbulb! That Atlantic/Bulwark bunch does exactly that, all the time, you just slightly change the Viewfinder. It sickens me and I’ve made it clear to them. I don’t pull punches because I don’t throw them until they’re warranted. They were probably wise to wall off from me. It’s hard to face someone when they can embarass you with your own words - especially when you’re paid for those words as a purported professional.
I couldn’t believe that Helen called out Lomez in that piece. Lol I had just been mentally wrapped-up in that dialogue when I went to bed. The cattiness of her writing is so gross to me. In every instance there, she drapes the costume of Monster over someone and then implies the political state of America is a binary question decided by that framing. One’s brain has to be so fried (so willing to follow) for that to hold at all logically. She talks about policy that is objectively insane; yet, those of us in Florida don’t want insanity. In fact, we’ve become our nation’s bulwark against it! What have this woman’s receipts been like under Progress and LGBTQ? She touts Kamala in that article and implies she only lost because The Mysogny doesn’t like Girl Boss. What?!? It’s so disrespectful to every audience except for hers. She obviously knows nothing about regular American men… or at the very least is paid well to pretend.
Really my point in all of this is our moment is calling for new voices. I’m not implying I’m some mountain of a presence, but I promise you I can speak well on these issues. I also promise you that none of these feminist spells and Highly Educated DM manuals mean a damn thing to me. They don’t work on me and people like me. I’ve been immune to Hatecraft my entire life. Facts; ones proven out. You can call me all the bad words you want. I don’t care. I don’t run in the same circles you do. And I’m confident my own tale of the tape stands up. Let’s sit down and talk manhood, darling, instead, of masculinism. By just living, I tear the coveted Liberal mythologies to shreds. The window I’m looking out right now does the same.
I’m really tired of hearing from these siloed minds. I believe most of us are. Thankfully, you can feel the new winds coming in strongly. I don’t give one shit about childish words created by petulant brats, no matter where they get published.
I was going to talk about this below as well, because it’s the craziest shit I’ve ever seen in my life (and yet so painfully predictable when you understand what you’re seeing) but I’ve run out of gas. I’ll be back soon. I can’t wait to show you where I’ve been.
