A friend of mine has been insisting that this is all very biblical. He maintains these people are the anti christ and this is the lead up to the Revelation. The more we talk and he throws out all kinds of stuff from the Bible, the more compelling this argument seems.
I would love for someone to do a deep dive thread on it trying to connect the dots.
Interesting you'd mention that. I am a life-long atheist, as I've stated before, but also one married to a devout Catholic and raising our children under the faith. I spend a lot of time around the church and obviously hear a lot of theology spoken. Unquestionably, what is occurring across western culture has taken on a good vs. evil tone to me. So much so, in fact, that it's become some of the strongest evidence I've encountered yet for the existence. Strange thoughts, I know, but I'm unable to shake them. I wrote a thread in this vein...

Interesting that you cite Gummy Bear. I'm not on Twitter much anymore because they banned me and it's hard to read many people when you can't follow them. Anyhow, I'm not sure it was that thread you posted but I know a year or so ago Gummy Bear did a deep dive and at the end decided that the WEF wasn't the cause of this insanity and wasn't much of a threat.
I just checked the thread and it looks like at least as of January of last year he changed his mind. Good.
I don't know if Mark Changizi has changed *his* mind but I know in the past he has stated that the problem isn't bad players manipulating everyone, it's just mass hysteria that caused the Covid insanity. He'd get kind of annoyed with people who argued otherwise.
These are not ignorant people. They just don't believe that there are people who are trying to take over the world by destroying Western Civilization. Or didn't. Maybe they have figured it out by now?
