This is a direct response to the terf point that 3/4 of the kids accessing gender clinics are autistic - 3/4 of a 4400% increase in under 10 years (UK figures)
Rates of autism ARE increasing though, by better diagnosis or more prevalence is unclear.
I'm reminded of a piece of research from circa 15 years ago, claiming that autism was a type of extreme male brain. (Baron-Cohen c '06 - yes, a relation of Borats, his first cousin).
I think it is. Autistic kids often feel alienated from themselves and their peers and are prone to black and white thinking.
Along comes an ideology embraced by everyone from tiktokkers to government ministers which offers them a simple explanation - Born in the Wrong Body! Only bigots disagree and that's not your fault - here's a colourful pin and a club to join.
