Bro, its been a ride since my 20s trying to figure this out. At first I thought this was just an academia thing (me, young and naive) that would not permeate and reach everyday people. Before I realized, this way of behaving was taking the whole world hostage and seeking truth was never again the point of holding a conversation.

I was exposed to that environment back in university (as an undergrad in a soft science field) around 2 decades ago—before it definitely became the everyday reality. I've always leaned toward classic liberal thinking, and going through that took a heavy toll on my mind. I had to rebuild my psyche from the pieces later on, a slow and painful process that felt like crawling out of the mud. After that nightmare, I went on to see all my peers (family and friends) gradually buy into it through media, letting themselves being brainwashed, to my dismay. Talking freely / debating became a zero sum game i.e. truth-seeking secondary to power struggles in conversation (the legacy media format).

The fact that most of this sociopath rationale is crafted in elite academia then marketed as grassroots movements has to be some of the most twisted aspects of it.

Stay strong.
