sum up our “culture war” about as succintly as you can:The left has yet to realize that "rule by credentialed experts" where (for example) college educated elites decide what gets taught in k-12, is on a collision course with Democracy.
Why?
Because the *values* of college educated leftists are not the values of typical voters.
They have to pick: do they want a Democracy (which will lead to things like the expulsion of gender ideology from k-12) or do they want credentialed experts in the bureaucracy to veto the will of the people? And this collision is going to happen sooner rather than later.
I’ve talked so much about coercion and rule (societal herding) by way of the “expert-class”. This reared its head grotesquely during COVID and is now being solidified and documented with Twitter Files.
This machine of societal herding, which is really a machine of social-engineering, which is actually a machine built for power retention, massively overplayed its hand during the pandemic. I would have hoped more moderates on the left would have been horrified to see this coercive apparatus so easily ported over to the public-health arena; but alas, tribal fealty was that thick. Years have been spent building this nationwide fervor of “The Moral vs. The Monsters” which has been used across every single front. It’s no longer policy discussion, it’s an existential threat (likely caused by those abhorrent conservatives) and only voting for the DNC can save it. The “morality binary”, 24/7/365. This hit an absolute fever-pitch under Trump when a significant portion of society (and importantly, much of the establishment/the rational) turned maniacal from the incessant programming. This is what “TDS” means, it actually doesn’t have much to do with Donald at all. That’s why it was so easy to port that same blind and rabid rage at “antivaxxers”, and then parents at schoolboard meetings, and then people and truckers who were already post-infection, and then MAGA which easily became DeSantis, and then it will be whoever next stands in the way of The Cause. “Don’t support all of our globalist plans? That’s because you don't care if the Earth dies. Our experts have already proven that it will if you don’t vote for our coveted agenda. You’re a fascist!”
This disgusting tool of propaganda I call The Truman Show is unlike anything seen in human history. Not because such intent and plans didn’t exist - they always have - but because there was no technology arm to effectuate it. Now there is, and what this Machine has become is straight out of an Orwell novel. The morality binary became all-consuming (it was meant to!) and has a significant portion of the American left now drugged-up and stuck in a cult-like craze. Daily I see people deny undeniable reality right in their face by deploying a Trump insult or detached comments about “election-denial”.

When you correctly identify this all as coming from design and not organic development, you should conclude Wokal is 100% correct. I use the term “Propaganda 101” frequently, and what I mean by that is the oldest trick in that book: publically accusing the other side of what which you are doing. We see this everywhere right now! From our shameless media claiming they need to “keep us safe” from disinformation while endless receipts pour out revealing how horrifically they are curating info and science while Big Tech suppresses truth to advance their own agenda; to systemwide pleas of “End of democracy!” from the same machine openly influencing elections and manufacturing Russian fairytales to try and remove a sitting president; wails of “Fascism!” from the same sect forcing its will onto the people using government, media and the corporate sphere, demanding obedience to detached and deranged ideologies. There may be no greater example of this concept than how frequently we hear the term “Tyranny of the minority” lobbed at THE RIGHT. What?!? Nothing could be more ass-backwards…
How could it be tyranny of the minority from the right when radical gender theory is being forced down every cultural crack we have, permeating our institutions by demand and force, being pushed at our youngest children in public-school, a man standing on the NCAA female swimming championship podium? How many people out of any random cross-section of 100 Americans do you think subscribe to gender theory? Meaning, they believe Lia Thomas actually is a female human being? I'm not talking about having sympathy for transpeople, I’m talking about believing they actually are of the opposite sex - which is the only basis for why Lia Thomas could stand on that podium. We wouldn’t tell our daughters they can no longer win sports titles because we're placating some dude with gender dysphoria's feelings. That ONLY occurs if we are considering this leftist scripture (gender theory) as true, if we accept the myth of gender identity over biological reality for the purposes of human classification. My answer is not even one. Across America, you won’t find a single person in most groups of 100 who subscribes to this extremist dogma. I’m not sure you would even at 1/1,000 or 1/10,000. And yet males can compete in female sports in the Olympics now? Men get to be housed with females in prison on their own whim? Headlines refer to a male rapist as “she”? Our government is telling other people's children at public-school that they are not actually a boy or girl and instead they get to choose and switch or claim none at all? They have teachers demanding to be called “Mx.” and “they”? Our medical and science institutions won’t say “mother”? Officials from the left publically use the term “people who bleed”? There are demands to say “Latinx”, that word showing up in DNC literature? What?!? This is the very definition of “Tyranny of the minority”. There could be no more poignant example. And yet these very same people (this same Machine) turn around and claim the right is exercising tyranny of the majority because they can’t pack the court and abolish the filibuster and do away with the EC and add states and continue having their way across every front in the name of “human rights”? It’s utterly surreal, The Twilight Zone.
Where is the “Tyranny of the minority” residing in a nation with a majority of its people Christian when religion is isolated from the public square while radical leftist scripture is force-fed down cultural channels and in schools, while the media and much of public society openly villainizes the religious and decries faith itself, culminating in a disgusting sister propaganda campaign to “MAGA” of “Christian nationalism” and “Christofacist”? This is why I said ass-backwards. It is a complete inversion. It illustrates the scope and magnitude of this social-engineering machine.
And that’s largely what our current “culture war” is about. This clash, this seam. Ironically (or really not ironically at all), it is an unquestionable minority (IMO, a tiny minority) with an insanely disproportionate level of control of cultural channels forcing its worldview and ideology onto the masses. The very term we just discussed above! We were formed as a republic of individual states. We are not meant to be a single land governed by a federal apparatus that operates like a quasi-monarchy. In fact, our Founders specifically built our system to prevent that, for that is the oppressive structure they had just freed themselves from. Never again. And yet, that is precisely the dynamic underway with The Truman Show, with the bloated and ever-expanded federal apparatus now working in complete unison with our media and this “expert-class”-structure to force a leftist agenda through moralizing. It’s San Francisco-style shit being forced onto everyone else in the other 49 and often against their will.
And if you think about it, that makes perfect sense, right? It's easy to trace back and see the building blocks used to get to this strategic position. Think about the “expert-class” and where it comes from. Academia. This “Same Thing"-ideology has overrun our universities and now much of our grade-school system. Our kids get pumped with this crap from start to finish, with most colleges now like a baptism. Big Tech and all our media and journo-sphere, where does it source and where are its hubs? Where have these liberal arts and humanities graduates gone? They’ve damn near taken over certain industries, those essential for this revolutionary push using fracturing through identity and immutables (which become more and more subjective and encompassing, by design. “Dismantle”). Journalism and newspapers, TV and news outlets, almost all communications and PR, Hollywood sports and entertainment, Big Tech and ALL of Big Tech before Elon (precisely why his Twitter purchase led to a TDS-caliber freak out), and most disturbingly, our medical and science institutions which have revealed themselves to be broken and corrupted, both ideological and political. It’s all the same machine, my friends. One that has completed a Long March through our institutions. It's revolution through cultural usurpation. And it almost worked!
Almost. They overplayed their hand. In a cruel twist of saving irony, the blinding power of The Truman Show and the notion of “The Moral vs. The Monsters” it created became a set of blinders to our sanctimonious left, our “bleeding hearts”. While this entire machina was tailor-made to manipulate those emotions, it ultimately worked too well. Again, this is the essence of “TDS”, not Trump. This is Sam Harris analogizing The Truman Show deceiving America and our own government (Team Hillary) burying the Hunter laptop story to save Joe/inventing Russiagate to remove Donald to saving the Earth from an asteroid. You need to grasp that Sam meant that when he said it. He fully believed he was still the good guy in saying it as well. And this is one of the supposed intellectual thought leaders of the really moderate and rational center-left. The ones painted as NOT persuaded by raw tribalism but white knights thinking everything through… completely gone to sanctimony, piss-drunk.
This all ultimately led to what I call “The Jill Filipovic Effect”. Where all of our cultural channels are blasting a flavor that is in conflict with the values of the bulk of our people. This is the underlying tension Wokal was touching on and why I found his words so heavy. When you deploy the morality binary across every front to win, painting your side as righteous and the other as evil, you perform a series of slicing off from the greater populace. If you don’t support critical race theory praxis in schools, you're a white supremacist. If you don’t support Lia Thomas in that pool, you’re a transphobe. If you won’t take needles without necessity established, you’re an antivaxxer. If you don’t genuflect to the climate cult, you’re a science-denier. The religious are stuck in the past, ignorant, and suppressive. Gun owners are abhorrent and dangerous. Pregnacy is oppressive, stay at home moms are looked down upon. Being against seeding gender dysphoria to kindergarteners means you don’t “want people to exist” After all of these excisions, who exactly is left? When you've turned parents, truckers, and Floridians into fascists, Joe Rogan into a racist and Bill Maher a right-winger, who is left on your team? A bunch of Jill Filipovics, that's who. And that’s where we are, as this assembly-line ideology usurps levels way beyond its means to hold. You see nothing but faces like Jills across the ranks of our journo sphere, pushing nonsense like toxic masculinity and telling me my male friendships are wrong. You don’t hear that crap at the grocery store. I don’t cross paths with pronouns in Florida.
COVID pulled back so many curtains and woke so many people up. Once there, many began to see the same fallacies across other topics; the same machine running across other fronts. This is what happened in Florida, we're just several laps ahead of the rest of the country. That’s because DeSantis allowed our people to see the truth and snap out of it back in 2020. While he kept getting called “Death DeSantis” across every Truman Show-channel (see: across all of life for many), the gap between the propaganda and reality just grew larger and larger down here. Because once you realize it’s all the same thing, you realize The Same Thing is everywhere. That’s why and how we ended up as the trailblazer in rooting this leftist dogma out of our school system. Remember how many times you heard “Don’t Say Gay” on our media? How our laws down here were framed as abhorrent and fascism? The picture they wanted painted was that DeSantis was pushing evil right-wing oppressive tyranny of the minority-stuff. But then this happened…
Some minority there, eh? 🙃 In a single cycle, DeSantis took his margin from less than 40,000 statewide to over 1.5 million. Miami-Dade is now a GOP stronghold. You’ll notice The Truman Show doesn’t talk about Florida like they used to. They talk about DeSantis. They want to pull Ron into their national ring where they can destroy him like Trump. But they aren’t so keen to draw that line down here in the Sunshine State anymore, that battlefront they spent 2020-2022 fortifying down so heavily on. They know they’ve lost that one, for good. More importantly, they know what it represents, what it symbolizes, what it foretells. The DNC going +37 on single-women nationally didn’t carry the day in Florida. It didn’t even show up. There’s a reason for that. We have extinguished leftist activism down here. And the more they drive that empty “morality binary” bullshit and hollow “human rights” nonsense, the further and further we pull away. We aren’t ever coming back, and they have nowhere else to turn. Did the widely anticipated red wave only happen in Florida because of something in the water down here? Or was it something about 2022 instead? Time will tell… but I know where my money is.
