You are not alone Theo! I hate to see this infecting what was to me, the last woke free zone in sports.
The responses, that the Flyers “let him” play, despite refusing to wear the ribbon, shows a dangerous disregard for religious freedom. That so many believe he should suffer workplace consequences for living his faith is frightening.
Just saw that in your DeSantis post. The Caps posts are yet another example of the great David Burge quote about killing an institution and wearing its carcass like a skin suit.
They really must hate their players--most of whom are working class North Americans or from the Eastern bloc--and their fans.
I've played sports much of my life, but never really got into watching sports. I've always viewed watching them as a distraction from either playing them or doing something else. A Super Bowl party here and there has always been fun, but it was never really about the game as much as hanging with friends.
I still see sports as a huge distraction, but I also agree that it is a strong uniting force.
I do not believe the lefts intention is to break the uniting force but rather to reprogram it. They get the benefit of constant distraction with a united mass of socially programmed spectators.
Unfortunately, players alone cannot stop this movement. If people want to keep this garbage out of sports, they need to walk out on anything that detracts from that sport.

Did you see what I added to the piece today? The two new tweets from the Caps? Not good.

Damn, that's heavy. Excellent point.
"Why do you care what they're doing?"
"Why do you care about drag queens reading to kids?"
"Why do you care about family friendly drag shows?"
"Why do you care about trans in women's sports?"
"It doesn't affect you, why do you care?"
Same people:
"You don't want to support them; you're a bigot and a homophobe."
Exactly, man. This shit is so empty.
